Birr 20|20 Vision is a community organisation established to contribute to the growth, development and enhancement of Birr Town and its hinterland. The group aim to help guide a vision for Birr, its people and environment and plan an implementation strategy for the town in which partnership, collaboration and co-operation are the dominant characteristics. It is to provide continuity in leadership and ‘community memory’ and act as a facilitating entity.

The group was founded in 2014 as an initiative to fill a gap in governance left by the abolition of Birr Town Council, which stymied the opportunities to easily build successful partnerships. Birr 20|20 Vision is run by volunteers who freely give of their time, expertise, and energy to the promotion of Birr and its environs. The Board is comprised of people with a diverse skillset who have already collectively contributed to several important community-focused projects in the town. 

The group has ‘pillars’ in each area that it sees as critical to the community of Birr, including Environment, Social Inclusion, Tourism, Arts, Festivals, Heritage and Local Authority Liaison. Collectively these pillars simply aim to make Birr and its surrounds a better place to live in, to work in, to play in and to visit!
